Karen loved being part of a team and I think that is why rowing for Radcliffe was so appealing to her. She loved to push herself, but never at the expense of others. As each season began, she recognized the greatness in others, and set out to be a mentor, role model and inspiring teammate in the boathouse. She lived the idea of “we’re in this together”, and saw the results in the Spring when fast Radcliffe boats charged off the starting line.
As in many facets of her life, Karen was a connector in our Varsity 8+, an essential link that blends two sections together. In rowing that means the 7-seat. Karen facilitated everyone else’s success.
